Course Objectives

This course aims to equip participants with the skills to:

• Enhance customer and audience experience to foster engagement and satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with clarity and conviction.
• Build your professional reputation and develop confidence in public speaking skills including speaking and hosting.
• Manage unexpected situations with poise, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you bring your laptop or portable electronic devices along with their chargers for the class, as course materials are administered digitally.

Course Outline

In-person Class (1 day of 8 hours):

Module 1: Craft Compelling Stories

• Understanding the objectives and expectations of different events
• Role of emceeing and storytelling in engaging the audience
• Techniques to structure and organise stories for maximum impact

Module 2: Stage Presence and Delivery

• Techniques to capture and maintain audience attention
• Non-verbal communication and body language tips for effective em-ceeing
• Developing confidence and charisma on stage
• Voice modulation and projection techniques
• Handling nerves and stage fright
• Microphone Handling Techniques

Module 3: Understanding and Adapting to Different Audiences

• Demonstrate close loop communications with the target audience
• Managing challenging audience interactions
• Dealing with technical difficulties and interruptions

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

• Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as [HAS-BIN-4077-1.1: Business Presentation Delivery].

• Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses. Trainees must pass all prescribed tests / assessments and attain 100% competency. NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainees if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria.

SkillsFuture Credit:  Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding. UTAP: This course is eligible for the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP). NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP. PSEA: To check for Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) eligibility for this course, visit: (a) SkillsFuture (TGS-2024042005) for Virtual Learning Class (VLC) (b) SkillsFuture (TGS-2024042005) for Face-to-Face class Scroll down to “Keyword Tags” to verify for PSEA eligibility. If there is “PSEA” under keyword tags, the course is eligible for PSEA. And if there is no “PSEA” under keyword tags, the course is ineligible for PSEA. Not all courses are eligible for PSEA funding.

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding: $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year. AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee. Note: Courses / Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim.
